Reflect the trapezius muscle: With your gloved hands, create a separating space between the cervical part of the trapezius muscle and the layer of muscles below. Insert a knife into this space with the edge pointing towards the spine of the scapula. Cut the muscle from the inside out along the spine of the scapula. Repeat for the thoracic part of the trapezius muscle and reflect both parts dorsally. The rhomboideus muscle is uncovered.
Reflect the latissimus dorsi muscle. Cut the muscle along the dorsal line and reflect it ventrally. Remove the fat beneath.
